DAY NINETEEN
posted at 6:30 AM
I got up late, and it was raining, so I went straight to the workout room. 10 minutes on the treadmill, increasing the pace towards the middle and then decreasing at the end, and then the following:
Crunches (+10): 50
Elbows-to-Knees (+10): 30
Lats (each side; +10): 30
Obliques (each side; +10): 30
Back raises (+10): 50
Wuss Pushups: 20
Outside thigh raises (each side): 20
Inside thigh raises (each side): 20
Leg Lifts (each side): 20
Scissor Kicks (total): 20
No stairclimber today, because last night at bike riding my quads felt like lead. Just a huge mass of immovable substance that was way, way heavy. I figured they didn't need the punishment...that and I was low on time.
My new coworker Wanda is bringing me a biscuit from McDonald's for breakfast this morning, but it won't be until 9 or 10 when she comes in, so I'm going to take a Slim Fast with me just in case.
I watched Sailor Moon 37 yesterday during my lunch break (I really had no time to do anything yesterday o_o). It was, well, awesome. A return to normalcy, but with a twist. And that ending cliffhanger was just evil...

Seeing what you're doing each day is cool, but I bet all of us are also wanting to know what the daily workouts are doing for you. I know you don't have a scale or anything, but how about energy, drive, appetite, what have you? You've been doing really good with keeping up the workouts. I can only imagine all the good things that the workouts have been doing for you!

I do think my energy level has gone up, and I'm definitely wanting to work out a lot more than I ever did in the past.
I am, however, having a hard time staying on my diet. While I didn't have that McDonald's biscuit for breakfast--Wanda didn't go because her husband made breakfast for her this morning--I am now eating two cheese hotdogs and some chips and dip for lunch. I had a Slim Fast for breakfast, but by about noon or so I felt like I was completely hollow, and my stomach was growling so loudly it was embarrassing. The same thing happened yesterday.
I guess what I need to do is make myself a nice large lunch of healthy foods, so that I won't stop for fast food or eat junk at home.
Other than having an increase in energy, I don't know if there has been any significant change. Maybe my legs are more toned; I'm not sure.
I do know that it doesn't wind me to carry groceries up to the apartment like it used to, which is good.
Another good trick is to keep healthy snacks around. Nuts like peanuts, cashews, etc.. are healthy for you and make you feel full. Also, things like celery (I remember reading somewhere that it takes more energy for your body to digest celerey than whats actually in it) and baby carrots and grapes and veggies like that are good to snack on, but are a little harder to have on you as they need to be refrigerated.
