There are fears that the signs for the new Interstate 69, or I-69, that's going to run through Indiana and Kentucky to the Mexican border will disappear fast once the highway is complete in a decade or so (if ever). I'm trying to think when I actually learned what a 69 was; I'm pretty sure it was after my Internet days began. That's softcore terminology for todays teens, though. I visited a high school in western Kentucky when I was back home in August and heard some kids making references to 'snowballing' -- good God, I'd never had known what that was if it hadn't been for Clerks. I had such a hard time keeping a straight face while reading that that I had to use my scarf to cover the bottom part of my mouth. Coz I'm still in the office, y'know, and I'm sure my colleagues will be wondering what's going on if I suddenly burst out laughing while looking at the computer screen.
